This is a blog intended to keep family and friends posted about my progress as I undergo a stem cell transplant to fight my relapse of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Day +11

Alright, I know I haven't been very good about updating all of you, but at least I know my wonderful husband has helped pick up the slack for me. Thank you sweetie!!! Yesterday (October 6th) was our six year anniversary. Pretty sucky that I spent it in the hospital, but I kept my spirits up by sending him an arrangement of flowers (with snack sized snicker bars in it too) knowing that he'd probably get a little bit of hassling from his co-workers. Oh, did I mention that I had the flowers delivered to his work!!!!! That was naughty of me!! He also sent fake flowers to me at the hospital. Apparently they allow silk flowers as long as there's no mossy stuff mixed in.

Okay, in other news, I am getting RELEASED from the hospital tomorrow!!!!! That is Day +12, baby!!!!! I'm pretty impressed with myself, since it's even earlier than I expected (my guess was around day +16). I'll be staying at Scott's cousin's house for my "out-patient" portion of the SCT, but I expect it to be only another 4-7 days, assuming I have no complicating issues. I thank all of you for all the good thoughts, prayers, and positive energy sent my way. I know they all made a huge difference in my being released so quickly and having a relatively easy time with the SCT. Thank you all!

Great news! So glad things are moving faster than expected. I know you will be so glad to be out of the hospital room!
We survived the church dinner today!
Hate to say this, but Jess and I had to go to the "corner" afterward to have a couple "cool" ones and relax!
Love ya
LaDonna
Hope to see you soon!

CONGRATS !!!!!
Getting out early that is wonderful news. And I bet deep down Scott loved the candy bar bouquet. I also know the guys there at work ,and I am sure they gave him (heck) about it, all in fun of course. But I also know most of them would of tried to sneak some of those candybars too !!! Hope Scott kept some for him and the boys. Well take care and keep up the good work on getting better so fast, It's been a struggle but it will all be worth it when you come home to those wonderful boys of yours, All three!!!! See you soon.

Skye,
Congratulations! Was great to see the new posting and see that you will be that much closer to going home!
Some juicy gossip...I am officially sleeping with a college kid!
Ok......not so juicy.....Gene starts classes today at Colorado Tech. He is taking up Information Technology.
He is a little nervous because it has been a while since he has been in a classroom, but, i am sure he will do just fine. I am just glad it is him and not me!
Anyway....Great news! Congratulations! and May God continue to bless you and your family.

FANTASTIC NEWS, SKYE!!!

I am the suckiest person on the planet as the little package that I had to send you during your SCT is still here!! Even if you weren't Superwoman, and not getting out so quickly, it wouldn't reach you in time! Sorry!!
I do have 2 excuses, 2 sick kiddies and a postal strike - will that do??

I WILL get them sent - if you're lucky you'll get them for Christmas!!

So glad you're doing so well - take care of yourself as out-patient and don't go over-doing it.........xx

So thankful for you Skye that the SCT has been doable for you. Take good care of yourself over the next few days/week while at Scott's cousins so you can get the go-ahead to go home to your own bed and your loving family. You are a superwoman! (I would have made you a superwoman pillow case if I could have found that material...I made Brian a Superman one!). Big (((HUGS))) on a job well done!!

Yay, Skye!!!

Can't imagine how happy you are to be getting out of there- congrats!

I think that sending a flower arrangement with Snickers bars to your man at his work is a beautiful idea!! He wasn't that embarrassed, was he?

Good work on the flower/candy bouquet...that made me laugh! So sorry I haven't been to Omaha to see you even though it's only an hour away! I'm still sick and I'll fill you in on the details later. I'm so glad you're getting out of the hospital!!! You make this look/sound easy! I hope everything with the outpatient part goes well so you can get home soon!

Hey sis! I am so glad to hear the wonderful news. I am thrilled that you bounced back so quickly. I know it is still a long road, but there is definately a light at the end of the tunnel.
Did you happen to catch the sucky game on Sunday night? What a crock of S**T! McCarthy should be ashemed of himself for letting it go on so long. What was he thinking (trying to kick start a running game that doesn't exist)? Anyway, if that is all I have to complain about, I guess I should be happy!
Well take care! Claire sent you a little something (to your house) to brighten your day. Keep hanging in there, and we are always thinkin about you!
Love ya BABE!!!
