I am hoping to get some of those great positive vibes, prayers, WHATEVER, that you have been sending my way for the past two years--for one of my friends on the Hodge message board. Sarah (SarahSmile), whom I've referred to in the past, is one of our mightiest warriors. She has been able to achieve minimal remission from her many lines of treatment, but was hoping for great things from a new clinical trial she was just enrolled in (SGN-35). Sarah had one round of this chemo, but ended up with a fever that just wouldn't go away. I spoke with her on the phone just last week, right after she had gotten her infusion, which is what makes this so sad for me.
She has been placed in ICU due to the fever, and it was determined she developed cellulitis and the infection is spreading. She was placed on a breathing tube this afternoon and is currently unconscious. I've been playing in Cancerland park long enough to know the breathing tube is not a good sign. I need help from all of you--you who are less cynical than me at this point in life--for strength for Sarah. I'm selfish, I'm not ready to lose her.
This is a blog intended to keep family and friends posted about my progress as I undergo a stem cell transplant to fight my relapse of Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Skye, Just got back from going out to eat. You know that Sarah is in my prayers. I feel like I know her from the way you have talked about her. I know she was one of many that you have told me about. and I feel like they are all part of the family at this point I pray for all of them. Please let her family know that your family will be thinking of her and her love ones tonight. All my Love Mom
this "good" cancer sucks
let me know if I can do anything for you. I know you are having a hard time and I wish I could be there for you.
Dearest Skye...Sarah is on my mind constantly again this evening. I admit I'm really frightened...for her..for Lorraine...and for us...her forum family. I hope and pray all our positive thoughts and vibes and loving prayers will help her to rally and join us again.
Big hugs to you my friend.
Susan
You know Sarah's got everything I can give..........glad you got to speak to her last week. We have to follow John's (jam) example and believe that her fight's not over yet..........and one day you'll get to speak to her on the phone again.
Much love to you and yours, Skye........from your haggis-eating buddy...........xx
Sorry to hear about your friend Sarah, I will hold her a sacred space through prayer and wrap her in healing energy.
As for your Therapy Blog. You go girl, and don't hold back. I think writing your feelings, thoughts , craziness and all of the cancer stuff is very therapeutic. You never ever say things you shouldn't. And remember, for some of us, that love you deeply, it is our only stories, our only connection, our only way of knowing the truth and I want the truth because that is so important. This space keeps me connected, even though sometimes I don't write or say anything. I read about your journey.
Sending you lots of love, Nancy
HEY SIS!
I just want you to know that Kevin, this kids and I will send Sarah our thoughts and prayers. We have a new long distance package, so I will be able to call more often. Well, I guess I should be getting back to work now, so take care!
Love Ya Babe,
Crystal
